Conversation

38 x 38 oil on canvas. The first of a new series.
Utilizing brighter colors. Although this first one
is almost a minimalist approach. Others that i'll
be posting are quite different. Using these colors
as opposed to muted colors have allowed me to
control the climate of the painting much easier.
The title of this painting is only my observation
and probably the least important. The idea is that
when painting abstractions, ( lyrical or otherwise )
there is a conversation that exists between the sub-
concious and the physical act of painting.

Here's a pastel painting that I did
of Nelson Ledges in the Autumn.
Nelson Ledges is a state park about
a half hours drive from my house.

This one was kindof an experiment. Oil on canvas. 16'' x 20'' if I remember
correctly. I swear I have more fun with painting when I stop taking it so
seriously, as was the case with this one.

Gray

Here's a pastel that I did a while back. We were on our way to visit my sister, and
I had my camara with me. There's actually a water tower in the picture, but I removed it.
That's the nice thing about painting our world. We can make it what we want it to be.

A pastel and conte pic that I did a while ago. It's from a section of
a painting of the holy family by Raphael.
Here's an oil painting that I did for a friend. He and his wife are into
lighthouses. This is a lighthouse in Va.

A pastel experiment. The golden ratio was used in this
piece in various areas. Most of the rectangles that were in the
initial sketch were covered up, but I left the squares.
Here's an experimental piece done in pastel. It's good to try different
styles and mediums!
